4-night "Borneo Blast" Tour
This off-the-beaten-path journey delivers a fast-paced introduction to the wild beauty of Borneo. Designed for riders who want to cover serious ground, the tour blends long riding days with cultural immersion. We will pass through Chinese, Malay, Bidayuh, and Iban communities, plus a stay at a secluded beach resort few travelers ever discover, a historic wooden Chinese gold mining town, and our family’s traditional wooden longhouse.
Perfect as a first taste of Borneo, this tour helps you get comfortable with the culture, terrain, and rhythm of the island. Afterward, you’ll be well-prepared to self-tour further, whether by jungle trek, river cruise, or independent day trips.
The route can be run in either direction depending on your start date, as some highlights operate on fixed schedules.
This schedule can leave on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
The reverse route can leave on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
The minimum number of participants to run this tour is 3.
That can be 1 motorcycle with a single rider, plus 2 people on 1 motorcycle OR 3 riders on 3 motorcycles.

Your adventure begins upon arrival at the airport, where we will pick you up*. We waste no time getting started. After lunch, we’ll host a meet-and-greet and orientation session covering route details, safety, GPS navigation, and group coordination.
Next, you’ll be fitted to your personal motorcycle, adjusting seat height, windscreen, footpegs, and suspension to suit your build perfectly.
With daylight fading, we head out on a short test ride to a historic frontier town over 150 years old. Its weathered wooden shophouses, beautifully preserved in time, set the stage for one of Malaysia’s most vibrant night markets. Wander through countless food stalls and choose your own dinner adventure.
Afterward, the evening is yours. Explore local bars, enjoy live music, or simply rest up for the journey ahead.

We begin the day with breakfast at a bustling local hawker center, where you’ll learn how to order like a local among dozens of food stalls offering everything from traditional laksa to Western favorites.
Once fueled, we gear up and hit the road. Today’s ride combines smooth tarmac, village backroads, and light gravel as we head toward the coast. Our first stop: a rare stretch of beach open to vehicles. Here, you can ride along kilometers of firm, packed sand, or relax beneath swaying palms with a fresh coconut in hand.
Next, we visit a wildlife rehabilitation center dedicated to protecting Borneo’s iconic species, including orangutans, sun bears, and proboscis monkeys. A gentle rainforest walk offers an up-close look at conservation in action.
The afternoon brings one of the finest riding sections on the island. We follow sweeping coastal roads toward Kilometer Zero, the starting point of the Pan-Borneo Highway near the Indonesian border. Expect flowing curves, light traffic, and stunning contrasts: mangroves and fishing villages to one side, limestone mountains to the other.
We arrive at a small Malay fishing village where crystal-clear waters invite a swim or snorkel. After time to relax and dine locally, we continue to a hidden beachfront resort.
Tucked away from the usual tourist trail, this secluded retreat offers comfortable rooms, a pool, excellent food, and a peaceful shoreline. Dinner includes a mix of local and Western dishes, with drinks flowing freely. With minimal light pollution, the beach is perfect for stargazing and night photography.
Overnight in a private, air-conditioned beachfront chalet.

After a hearty breakfast, we set off early for a full day in the saddle. Today’s journey leads deep into the interior of Borneo, into the homeland of the Iban people.
We begin on smaller roads before joining the modern Pan-Borneo Highway, a surprisingly engaging ride with sweeping bends, rolling elevation, and stretches cutting through untouched rainforest.
Along the way, we stop as needed, for meals, fuel, refreshments, and the occasional hidden gem such as colonial-era forts or trading posts.
Eventually, we leave the highway behind and venture onto narrower village roads, ranging from smooth tarmac to rough gravel and mud. These remote routes bring us to a traditional Iban longhouse far from the tourist path.
Here, you’ll be welcomed as family. Hosted by the village headman, you’ll experience authentic Iban hospitality that includes sampling traditional rice wine (tuak) and local spirits (langkau), watching cultural dances like the "ngajat", and enjoying live music.
Dinner is a true feast, prepared in traditional style, including pansoh (meat cooked in bamboo) alongside rice and local dishes. Drinks flow freely as stories and laughter carry into the evening.
Overnight in a private, air-conditioned room.

We start the day with a freshly prepared breakfast and plenty of coffee before setting off once more.
Our first destination is the stunning highland lake of Batang Ai. The road there is as rewarding as the destination, twisting through hills with rough patches and minimal traffic. At the lake, its blue-green waters provide a perfect photo opportunity and a peaceful break.
From the highlands, we descend while remaining in Iban territory before stopping for lunch in one of Sarawak’s friendliest small towns, Betong. We will enjoy lunch at the town square and admire a colonial-era fort.
The final leg takes us back toward the coast along scenic two-lane roads that weave across peninsulas and 3 of the major rivers of Borneo. Keep an eye out for free-roaming cattle, these roads double as sunbathing spots for the locals’ livestock. We ride through scenic rice paddies, pass longhouses, and enter mangrove areas.
As we continue, Malay fishing villages line the road with stilt houses, colorful boats, and roadside seafood stalls offering a glimpse into coastal life. If we see something of interest, we stop. The schedule is set by the group.
By nightfall, the lights of Kuching appear on the horizon. To keep things easy after a long ride, we avoid city traffic by parking the bikes at our shop on the edge of the city and transporting you directly to your riverside hotel in the city center.
We close the journey with a final group dinner and a small farewell gift, marking the end of an unforgettable Borneo adventure.
